Therapy for Mind and Body

Welcome!

You have what it takes to make the changes you want. Together, let’s take a pause and understand how you’ve learned to navigate this crazy world. Let’s celebrate what works, honor what did, and rewrite what doesn’t.

Hi, I’m Christy.

I practice strengths-based therapy that bridges mind and body.

As a lifelong dancer, I believe incorporating the physical body into talk therapy is deeply important. This style of therapy—somatic therapy—attends to all the ways we experience life: thoughts, actions, emotions, and most importantly, physical sensations in the body.

There is ample research that emotions show up first as physical sensations and that impactful events imprint on us physically. When we intentionally and mindfully listen to the body, we can unlock new pathways toward change.

You’re in the right place if you:

  • Experienced trauma or relationship wounds, especially during childhood

  • Struggle with anxiety

  • Experience intense emotions that don’t align with what’s happening

  • Have trouble trusting your self-worth

  • Find relationships challenging

  • Feel detached from the world
